MAMAIN - Eat Play Repeat

11:18 AM

Last Sunday, JiF got a special privilege to be invited to the grand opening of a new kids-friendly café named, MAMAIN (makan & main = eat & play). JiF was very excited because it was his first time to be invited to a café with that concept. The exciting concept itself was created by its founders, which is a group of young, beautiful, and inspiring moms who had personal experience that hardly find a place to catch up with friends, have a meeting while having the kids around with them. So let's take a look at the cute spots!

Hot Latte (35k). Good news for caffeine livers, they partner up with NALA coffee, which provides pure Arabica coffee beans.

French Fries (35k). For me, it's just an ordinary appetizer to share with. The French fries were a bit too salty tho.

Nasi Bakar with Ox Tongue (75k). Mixture of fragrant rice, herbs, and salted fish wrapped in banana leaves, served with satay lilit and fresh salad. The nasi bakar itself was flavorful, not dry and came with modern & chic presentation. Actually you can order the nasi bakar only, adding ox tongue will cost you 15k. In addition, the ox tounge was very tender and the satay lilit was decent.

Ayam Geprek with Mozzarella (80k). Light-buttered marinated Maryland chicken topped with red chili, served with jasmine rice. I ordered the add-on mozzarella (+15k), because I think it'll be much better with it. If you're not into cheese, you can order the ayam geprek only for 65k. The chicken meat was very juicy and tender, not too oily and mixed well with the mozzarella cheese. Even though it wasn't cheesy but the taste was nice, moreover with the fragrant jasmine rice. Best enjoyed while warm!

Mango Serabi (50k). Serabi with fresh sliced mangoes and vanilla ice cream. At first, I thought it was a pancake filled with fresh sliced mangoes and topped with vanilla ice cream, just like served on other places. Surprisingly, it was serabi which came with soft texture. I love the mixture of the serabi and sliced mangoes. A must-try dessert dish!

Mango Black Sticky Rice (40k). Layers of black sticky rice, coconut milk, fresh mangoes, and vanilla ice cream. Honestly, I prefer the mango serabi than this one, because I don't really like black sticky rice. The black sticky rice was a bit too much for a glass, I meant like the balance of the layers.

One of the founders is Indonesian artist and singer, Gisella Anastasia. She came with her super cute little daughter, Gempita! Cuteness overload!
