Birdcage isn't a new comer in café and restaurant areas. I've passed their café few times when I was in Wijaya area but never pay a visit before. Until few days ago, I visited them with my mom to give a try. FYI, it's located at Wijaya strategic street, opposite of SMPN 12. My first impression is that the place is surrounded by glasses but not similar enough with the real birdcage. Nevertheless, I think their concept is quite decent. The weather was nice on that day, and when I sat on the sofa near the glasses, it looked like I was in Puncak or Bandung or any shady places. So cozy! I thought I'd sleep on that sofa.

Goodhood Coffee + Kitchen. I've been stalking their Instagram recently and finally got a chance to pay a visit few days ago. I love that their interior is mostly decorated with wood things. Located at Dipo Business Center, I think their main target is people who work around their neighbourhood. If you aren't familiar with the area, it's located exactly next to Jakarta Design Center (JDC) at Slipi. Well, enough talking, let's start with their interior :

I haven't been visiting Bali in several years, and I do miss the Balinese food. Thank God, there's Ajengan Bali, the newly-opened humble Balinese restaurant which is located at strategic Cipete Raya Road. Ajengan means food/ meals in Balinese language, that's why Ajengan Bali serves only best traditional and authentic Balinese cuisine. Short story about them, Ajengan Bali is a family restaurant managed by the friendly yet humble mother and daughters who preserve the grandma's special recipes which represent Bali's culinary heritage and cultures from generation to generation. Paradise Inn which managed by the well-known Boga Group, is a classic Chinese restaurant, serving classic signatures, tea, and desserts. Having 3 outlets in Jakarta, no doubt, they are one of the popular Chinese restaurant among citizens. Great food with classic homey ambiance, suitable for having lunch/dinner with your lovely family, or friends, or even with your business clients. Enough talking, let's check it out :

Banana Split (72k). Scoops of Belgian Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla ice-cream with a brulee banana and wafer biscuits. Drizzled with coutis and served with whipped cream and almond flakes. One of their best sellers. I can't totally resist this. Yeah Geez.., who can say no to banana split??? Anyway, for the flavors of the ice-cream, you can choose whatever you like.

A simple 'Lunner' at Monolog. If you're wondering what's the meaning of 'Lunner', if you know what 'Brunch' means, then you probably guess Lunner means between Lunch and Dinner. Yep, you got it right! After having lunch at shopping mall, I often walk around in hours only to do shopping, then when I feel a bit tired, I'll go for coffee, sometimes plus a meal for Lunner. Let's see what I got for my Lunner at Monolog :

Hot Latte with additional Hazelnut flavor (30k + flavor 10k). My favorite coffee at Monolog, I found it's very interesting for its coffee here, that we can request for additional flavor to your coffee. Ehm, yes, because I'm neither a coffee lover nor coffee expert so I might not taste a strong coffee. My hot latte with hazelnut flavor saved my day! No need to add sugar!

Eggs Benedict with Beef Ham (80k). Toasted English muffin with poached eggs and a selection of protein (Beef ham or Smoked salmon) served with house salad. The portion was quite generous, especially the house salad. Unfortunately, the house salad was a bit lack of dressing, so it became quite dry. The combination between the toasted muffin, runny poached egg, and beef ham were great! Honestly, I didn't really like the sauce, but it was still okay, and I do love seeing the runny eggs!

The most popular Japanese chain restaurant in Indonesia is Sushi Tei. Everyone knows this famous restaurant, which could be found at many shopping malls around big cities, especially Jakarta. Delicious, wide-variety, affordable are the best 3 words to describe Sushi Tei is. No doubt, if you pass by the restaurant at lunch or dinner time, there will be long queue for the waiting list even their capacity is quite big.  FYI, I'm one of Sushi Tei lover- I do have a permanent member and my family loves dining here too! Let's see some of my favorites at Sushi Tei :

Salmon Crispy Aburi (38k). Half broiled salmon, crabstick, omelette, and cucumber. Another my all-time favorite sushi roll! The salmon was awesome, melted in my mouth along with the crispy crumbs, crabstick, omelette, and cucumber. Each portion consists of 4 pcs of sushi rolls, and I think it's not really enough!

Curry Udon (68k). Noodles with beef curry. You can choose between udon, soba, and ramen. The texture of the udon was quite chewy, a perfect combination with the tasty curry. Unfortunately, there was only some little pieces of beef chunks, 3pcs of potatoes, and 2pcs of carrots so from its presentation, it looked like it was just udon with curry, that's all. Nevertheless, I still love the curry!
