New Dishes - Sate Khas Senayan

I've been to Sate Khas Senayan many times and never get bored with their cuisine, especially the famous chicken satay. Few days ago, I had a chance to try their newest creation; 3 dishes of beef menu (Menu Sapi) : Asem-asem Sapi, Kerengsengan Sapi, and Semur Sapi.
Anyway, here are the quick snaps of their interior at Menteng outlet :

Asem-asem Sapi (64k). Tamarind beef stew served with perkedel and eggs as condiment. This is such a traditional yet authentic Javanese cuisine which used tamarind as the main ingredient. Honestly, it was my first time trying this dish and I found it has an unique taste. It may look like a soto dish, which comes with beef, french bean, tomato, chilli, and shallot. At first I thought it would be a spicy dish, but it wasn't. In my opinion, it would be better if they could cook it with more bold seasoning.





Kerengsengan Sapi (59k). Thinly sliced beef and union sautéed with spicy sauce, served with raw cabbage. Another traditional Javanese food. The sliced beef was very tender and cooked well with the spicy sauce. I could taste the spiciness and it was pretty good. They used raw cabbage to balance the spicy beef, so you could taste the tender beef mixed with crunchy cabbage. My favorite one from the 3 new beef dishes menu.





Semur Sapi (59k). Thinly sliced beef sautéed with soun, potato and union sweet sauce. Semur sapi here is different from the common one. It used thinly sliced beef instead of cubed beef and served dry. Unfortunately, for my tounge, it was a bit too sweet. However it was still okay to mix it with warm white rice.
