The WAIT is OVER! Finally HaiDiLao Hot Pot just opened their first outlet in Indonesia, located at Gandaria City Mall- Ground Floor on 1st November 2019. Actually I've been waiting for their opening since few months ago, when I accidentally saw the 'coming soon' sign at Gandaria City. HaiDiLao is a chain of hot pot restaurants from China and they have outlets in Hongkong, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, UK, Canada, USA, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and the newest one, Indonesia. I heard from many Indonesian people that have tried 'em at Singapore, their hot pot is very popular, especially with their great service. So let's check it out!

Here you can choose between 1 or 2 or 4 flavors for the soup, such as Sayur Asin, Szechuan Mala, Tiga Kombinasi, Jamur, Tomat, Hotpot Air Bening, Tom Yum Kung. I ordered 2 soups : Tiga Kombinasi (chicken stock and mushroom) & Tom Yum Kung. If you're a spicy lover, I suggest you to order the Szechuan Mala. For the condiments, you will be charged IDR 30k per pax for sauce refill (self-service). FYI, you can cook by yourself here, but if you need help their friendly staff are always ready to help you!

Babi Goreng Crispy khas HaiDiLao (58k). The only non-halal dish here, I really love the fried pork, tender, crispy enough and not oily at all! What a great starter.

Sapi Short Plate Premium (68k). I think this plate of thinly-sliced beef is quite affordable. The meat itself was tender and fresh! Tips: just dip and swirl it into the boiling broth to cook for 10 seconds, until the meat is no longer pink, then mix with your favorite sauce! YUM.

Pasta Udang khas HaiDiLao (68k). It's one of their specialty and it was so good! Basically it's similar with prawn meatballs but softer. So just cut it into some small-bites parts, cook it until it changes into pink color.

Bakso Ikan dengan Telur Ikan (40k). The fish meatballs were nice too.

Tahu Ikan Keju (35k). I couldn't taste the cheese, but the fish tofu was soft enough.

Another HaiDiLao's specialty :

Lao Mian khas HaiDiLao (25k). Live show noodle dance. A specialty from HaiDiLao, because they will make the noodle directly in front of us! What an entertaining experience. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of it, but you can definitely watch my full review on YouTube! It's not like an usual noodle, it has ticker texture but has unique taste.

Overall, I was really impressed with their food & service, yes there're two crucial points for a restaurant review. When first I arrived at the restaurant, I was greeted with sincere and friendly staff and given the queue number. While waiting for your table, you can simply enjoy welcome drinks, snacks, and even fresh fruits, moreover you can play board games there! For Indonesian restaurant, it's quite new to serve customer while waiting for their table. Good job!

Entering the restaurant, it was full-packed and I was a bit surprised since it was just the second day of the opening. Geez, the news spread so fast! Anyway, the interior was dominated with red color, as same as their logo. Here are the great things, they gave us warm towel, transparent plastic to protect your phone, hair clip, eyeglass cleaning tissue, bag cover, and also apron! How could they prepare exceptional service like that, awesome!

Anyway, you order the food with ipad (not a new thing, but this prove that modern restaurants keep spreading in Jakarta which is great!). The service time was also quite fast. Even though maybe the price is a bit pricey, but many people say it's more affordable than the Singapore outlet, but believe me, you won't have this great eating experience at any other restaurant in Jakarta. Seriously, they not only serve great food, but also great service!

If you're curious, don't forget to watch our full review on YouTube!
